Serotonin II

This is "serotonin Ⅱ" (2019) from yeule , a project by Nat Ćmiel from Singapore.

Yeule began with an obsession for invention and discovery, which led her to build her own synthesizers. Her first full-length album, Serotonin II, is the perfect result of this process and resonates with her "mutable self-expression," which she describes as "a repressed psychological haze transformed into perfume." It delves deeply into death, rebirth, and most mystical of all, the place between those two realities.

"When I conceived the Yeule project, she served as a vessel to document key points in my life. Each song reflects a part of my most likely vanished self, released during that era."

The project name, Yeule, was inspired by Final Fantasy, the synonymous JRPG (I wonder when RPG started having a J in it). The music has a strong affinity with subcultures such as the internet and games, and there's something nostalgic about it (Ammel).
