and the "Sei Note In Logica" LP (2025) by Italian composer and pianist Roberto Cacciapaglia.
Roberto Cacciapaglia is an Italian composer and pianist who began his career in the Milan experimental music scene of the 1970s.
Sei Note In Logica (The Logic of Six Notes), released in 1979, was his second album and has now been reissued after more than 40 years.
In keeping with Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians, Sei Note In Logica is a work that finds joy in constant change. Multiple instruments layer the same phrases, but the patterns are unique and never repeat. Electroacoustic processing transforms the sounds, creating even more layered sounds.
The album contains two tracks of about 16 minutes in length, and as the commentary says, it is an album that will get you into the exhilaration of Steve Reich-esque minimalism. The cover photo is also excellent (Ammel).
