This is Akiko Morita's first collection of works in eight years, and her first publication with DOOKS. It brings together drawings she has produced over the past few years.
The title "METEORS at 3 am" refers to the time when she is most awake and most dedicated to her work. The dynamic composition of her oil paintings is in keeping with her previous work, and the delicate, beautiful lines directly express her thoughts. The work also makes use of the cinematic perspective she has cultivated, and includes her latest works, created specifically for this book, with the book's size, structure, and composition in mind.
The drawings have a lot of space, as if they were made with the intention of movement in mind. I was somehow drawn to this book and picked it up (Ammel).
