This is "MERIYASU'S DOLL HOUSE" (2022) by stuffed animal artist Meriyasu Kataoka.
Kataoka Meriyasu has created stuffed toys inspired by around 100 dolls from various places and periods of production that are housed at the Yokohama Doll Museum. The museum is hosting an exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary of Kataoka Meriyasu's creations, and this collection includes 100 of the works on display at the exhibition, as well as 100 of the original collection pieces that inspired them. Each piece also includes comments and credits, making it well worth a look. The book has a mysterious feel, a mixture of nostalgia and newness. Photographed by Kagawa Masashi.
With the spread of 3D printer technology, we are seeing more and more solid objects, but I personally feel that the power of "stuffed toys" is immense, with their softness, mobility, and the freedom they leave for their owners. (Ammel)
