In Dissolve / Acidclank

"In Dissolve" LP (2025) by Acidclank.

Acidclank is a solo project by Yota Mori. This conceptual album is themed around "reliving a trance state" and expresses the "experience of dissolving boundaries" between oneself and the surroundings.

In the first half, the repetitive and melodic soundscapes of minimalist gamelan and synth phrases lead the listener into a deep meditative state, while in the second half, the music develops further, taking listeners to the depths of the mind through a variety of approaches, including drum and bass and dream pop.

The album is fascinating as a whole, with its jacket design, cross-genre music, and overall musical composition. It's one of my favorite Japanese artists I've listened to recently (Ammel).
