"DIA" (2025) by Ela Minus.
After collecting song fragments over the course of three years while traveling around her native Colombia, Mexico, North America and Europe, she felt that the album was complete at one point. However, when she looked back on her debut album, she realized that the lyrics had not fully expressed her inner thoughts, and decided to aim for a deeper self-expression.
She then changed the location of her work, working in the Mojave Desert in California, a hotel in Los Angeles, New York, the Seattle area, Mexico City, and London. Working in different locations with different time flows gave her the opportunity to reflect on herself and her life.
"DIA" is a work formed through a process of self-discovery, asking the question: where do we go after we've been broken?
This album, like other artists of the past, was produced in a different place and time. The crystallization of the sounds that was born in the process of exploring one's inner self is amazing (Ammel).
