"Mother-of-pearl Box" by Yuko Matsuzaki, 2LP (2024) Original: 1985.
After a classical career as a flutist, Matsuzaki Yuko began working as a composer and arranger in 1982, and from 1985 to 1987 she worked mainly in London as a studio musician and touring support member as a flute, synthesizer and keyboard player. She gained high acclaim overseas without ever passing through the Japanese music scene. This is a reissue of the extremely rare album "Mother-of-pearl Box," which she released in 1985 before moving to the UK, limited to 100 copies and on LP only.
Yuko Matsuzaki is a well-known figure, with her collaborative album "MOON GARDEN" with German electronic musician and pianist Roedelius due for release in February 2025. The upside-down Buddha statue on the cover of this album is sure to draw your eye in (Ammel).
