This is "Goat Meal in a Wash Basin" (2012) by Ishida Yusuke.
What kind of people are there in the world, what kind of food is there, what kind of smells do they have? Memories of "food and people" that could only be encountered on a bicycle trip. This is a revised paperback edition with 20 stories that did not fit into the original book and have been significantly expanded.
It is not hard to imagine that a world bicycle trip would be a tough one. However, the way the author describes the hardships, sometimes light-heartedly and sometimes introspectively, gives us a sense of quiet surprise and comfort (Ammel).
