Old style / meiding

This is the "Kofuku" LP by Meitei (re-pressed in 2024).

This work is an attempt to reexamine art and aesthetic sense as a "provocation," and as the album's subtitle suggests, it is conceived as a "satirical commentary on old Japanese aesthetics."

With the unique texture of each piece, Meitei has been recognized as a rare presence who reinvents bygone cultures through the medium of ambient music.

However, in "Kofū," he deliberately deconstructs this methodology, and this work, his first release on KITCHEN. LABEL, quietly betrays the expectations of his past works while shaking up the very concept of "Japanese sound" in the modern era.
