Translated by Shogo Asami, author: "Why Do People Go to War?" (2016) by Einstein and Freud.

In 1932, the League of Nations asked Einstein to "write to the person with whom you most want to exchange opinions on the issue you consider most important in modern civilization." The person he chose was Freud, and the theme was "war." The two men, who found reason in the two dark corners of the universe and the mind, hold a sincere discussion about war, peace, and human nature.

In addition to the content of the 2000 publication, it also includes original commentary by Takeshi Yoroi and Tamaki Saito.

Translator's Afterword

Commentary I: Man and War (Yoro Takeshi)
Commentary II: Our "culture" deters war (Tamaki Saito)

The exchange between the two men is only one exchange, and honestly, the number of pages is not very long. However, the content has been stripped of all unnecessary material, making it a worthwhile read. The addition of commentary by Takeshi Yoro and Tamaki Saito allows for deeper reflection (Ammel).
