This is "The Origins of Photography: Britain" (2019) by the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.

This is the catalogue for the exhibition "The Origins of Photography: Britain," which was held for two months from March 2019. Photography culture began in 1839 with the announcement of the first technology, and research into photography developed in Britain among the aristocratic society rooted in Victorian culture, eventually spreading widely as a culture. Using many works never before exhibited in Japan, this exhibition explores the diverse breadth of British photography culture, which was previously unknown in Japan. The exhibition allowed visitors to experience the breadth of British photography culture, which was admired by Japanese people from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period, and the history of it.

B5 size, 247 pages, all in Japanese and English

Although it is a used book, it is in good condition and comes with an errata sheet for any typos.

The culture and art of music, video, and photography have developed alongside technology. Knowing their origins is important in making the culture even more enjoyable. This book is an exhibition catalog, but it can also be a starting point for learning more (Ammel).
