The book selection is by Meitei.

Connecting the gap between music, books, and people
『lecteur〈 〉 liseur』

Six months after the launch, we are expanding this concept even further. We will ask the artists who created the music selected by ammel to select books for ammel.

The first instalment of the series was selected by electronic musician Meitei-sama (hereafter referred to without title), who recently successfully concluded his Kofu Kanketsuhen TOUR ~Ruri~ and has already received high praise both in Japan and overseas.

Meitei, who creates music, calls the atmosphere of a past era that is gradually being lost from Japanese culture "Lost Japan." He weaves Japanese literature into his music for Kofu III, and he chose the book he read the most when he was in his twenties.

"This was the book I read the most when I was in my 20s. The things he mentioned really gave me the push I needed at the time. At the time, nothing I did was rewarded, and I felt powerless in society, so he was like a kind of mentor to me."

"I think that I learned from this book not just about continuing the music (work) that I love, but about the meaning that lies beyond that."

"On the other hand, there seems to be a lot of criticism of him from people today. I think it's natural that there are various understandings and interpretations from various positions, so I decided to choose his book."

If you come across a book wrapped in glassine in the store, with the shadows of the letters faintly reflected, please feel free to pick it up and ask who selected it.

Ammel features music created by people who cherish books or whose lives have been influenced by them.

(Please note that at this time, the books are not available online, but can be viewed in-store at the time of rental.)
